Zoom guy:

Mike Rosinski began his exposures, initially planning to capture about 45-55 minutes worth of star trails from his yard in Hartland, Michigan, USA. But he dozed, only to awaken some 3 hours later to find his camera had continued to run until the battery died. Composing the resulting images, the graceful concentric star trails were expected, along with light from a late rising Moon glinting on windows. Still, as he slept on the warm night a blizzard of yellow streaks flooded the scene, not left by fairies but fireflies.

Highland Cattle, Scotland
Photograph by Patrick Kelley
While hiking in Scotland we encountered an ancient breed of highland cattle known as “kyloe.”  They were stout and have adapted to grazing on plants that many other cattle avoid.  Their long shaggy hair protects them from the cold winters and rainy weather.  They curiously approached us because to them, I’m sure we were the unusual-looking visitors!

Now THAT is what I call a table, for Jabba’s sake ! I just love the way R9 Design Studios, from England, designed the Falcon, it would fit perfectly on my desk ! Well I would need a giant desk. Anyway more pics in the full article !

Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we have dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.

Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wider seas
Where storms will show your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.

We ask You to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push into the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.

— Sir Francis Drake (1577)
